The Training Programme for Future Leaders started in the 2017/2018 academic year. Its main objectives are: disseminate knowledge, support the generations that will assume responsibilities in the future, and connect people with experience and know-how to the younger generation.

  1. Share knowledge about the Basque transformation model.
  2. Make a contribution to the future challenges facing Basque society.
  3. Provide training and knowledge from the Sustainable Human Development (SHD) perspective to young people who will take on leadership roles in the future.
  4. Share knowledge of experts in different areas from Euskal Herria and elsewhere with young people.
  5. Ensure inter-generational transmission.

The programme is designed for 20 people between 18 and 30 years of age who are committed to political, private or social initiatives, or because they have a strong profile in the public, private, political or associative areas.

ALC will guarantee gender equality among the people participating in the programme.

– Vocation and a commitment to sustainable human development in Basque society. – Good oral and written communication skills, both in Basque and Spanish. – Written and oral comprehension in English.

The training programme is free of charge. Participants should attend at least 80% of the programmed sessions and complete an end-of-course assignment. Agirre Lehendakaria Center reserves the right to use these assignments for publication on its website.

Persons interested in participating in the 2020-2021 edition should present their candidature by the date which will be announced in due course. This will include a short biography and a cover letter explaining the candidate’s interest in this training programme. Candidatures should be sent to: kolabarrieta@agirrecenter.eus

All participants will receive a certificate indicating their participation in the programme and a reference to incorporate in their CV, both signed by Agirre Lehendakaria Center and its Director, Juan Jose Ibarretxe.
