Gorka Espiau, PhD, is the director of the "Agirre Lehendakaria Center for Social and Political Studies", Fellow of the Young 
Foundation, founding partner of the Koop Social Innovation Laboratory (SILK) and advisor to the Work4Progress initiative promoted by the La Caixa Foundation. Previously, he was senior advisor to the Cabinet of the President of the Basque Government. Gorka has also been a professor at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Montreal (CIRM-McGill University), Senior Fellow at the United States Institute of Peace and Senior Associate at the ICRC (Columbia University). He began his professional career at Elkarri, the Movement for Dialogue and Agreement in the Basque Country. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of Stanford Social Innovation Review in Spanish and author of the documentaries "Pluja Seca" (TV3 2011) and "Parlem les Lluls" (TV3 2012). He is fluent in Spanish, English and Basque.
