Conference on Science and Social Innovation for Tackling Complex Challenges

On February 3, 2026, ALC will participate in the conference “Science and Social Innovation for Tackling Complex Challenges: Towards Connected, Knowledge-Based Social Innovation Ecosystems,” to be held at the CSIC Auditorium.

 

This conference, organized by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), will bring together experts and leaders in the field of social innovation and community development to discuss how to strengthen social innovation ecosystems and address complex challenges through science and knowledge.

 

Speakers include Eloísa Del Pino Matute, president of the CSIC, Patricia Bezunartea, director general of the Ministry of Social Rights, and José Moisés Martín Carretero, director of the CDTI. Gorka Espiau Idoiaga will share ALC's vision of social innovation in the territory and the strengthening of connected ecosystems.

 

The conference program includes presentations, round tables, and an interactive BIRDS workshop focused on mapping social experiments to address complex challenges, with the participation of leaders from public institutions, foundations, and social innovation networks such as the Iberian Network of Community Culture Laboratories.

 

The conference is open to anyone interested in the development of knowledge-based social innovation ecosystems.
