The second workshop in the EmPACT i3 project’s employability program was held at FICOBA (Irun). This initiative, promoted by Euskampus Fundazioa in collaboration with the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and the University of Bordeaux (UB), is part of the training and employability pillar of the Euskampus-Bordeaux Cross-Border Campus and is co-financed by the INTERREG / POCTEFA Program.
EmPACT i3 was launched in January 2024 as a cross-border inter-university project aimed at improving the employability of students in the Basque Country and Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The program uses a challenge-based learning methodology to address issues related to sustainability, such as ocean protection, the circular economy, and the energy transition.
After an initial phase of identifying challenges in December, the project is currently in its second phase, which consists of three workshops in Irun. Following the sessions on February 13 and March 20, the third workshop will take place on May 29. This edition involved 40 students (19 from the UPV/EHU and 21 from the UB) from 18 different disciplines, organized into 17 research and intervention projects under the slogan “Komunikate bat gara” (we are a community).
Internships under the Work 4 Progress (W4P) program
As part of this program, the Agirre Lehendakaria Center will host three students from the University of Bordeaux during the week of April 20–24. The internship program is specifically carried out under the Work 4 Progress (W4P) initiative, which aims to address employment-related challenges through collaborative processes, experimentation, and social innovation.
