Barcelona Provincial Council: development of local education plans
Since the beginning of 2023, ALC has been collaborating with the Barcelona Provincial Council to support the development of a strategic plan on education in different municipalities of the territory.
Municipal competencies, sectoral regulations, the principles and values of the Educating City and the SDGs are considered the basis for the strategic elaboration of the local plan. The Municipal School Council is established as the main body for the implementation of the plan, with the presence of Councils of children, adolescents and young people. The focus is on transversal and inter-administrative work.
At ALC, we support this process through our social innovation approach. Some of our key actions include:
- Mapping and connections between socio-educational agents.
- Efficient mapping and organization of existing resources, avoiding duplication and fostering connections and joint work.
- Identification of challenges and opportunities in educational and social matters in the local context through listening processes.
- Facilitation of sessions for the collective interpretation of information.
- Co-creation of axes and strategic lines and local educational objectives, which are specified in long- and medium-term programs or actions.
