“Listening Better, Acting Faster”: Social Innovation and Technology

The Work4Progress program is organizing the “Listening Better, Acting Faster” event on September 22, 2026, in New York—a one-day conference jointly hosted by the “la Caixa” Foundation, the Visa Foundation, and the Grupo Social Foundation during United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Week.

Against a backdrop of increasingly complex social challenges and a demanding funding environment, the event will explore how the philanthropic sector can strengthen collaboration among different stakeholders. Throughout the event, participants will examine the role of technology, data, and artificial intelligence in actively listening to communities, accelerating learning processes, and transforming information into initiatives with real impact.

The event will bring together leaders from the fields of philanthropy, multilateral institutions, academia, and civil society to share practical experiences. The working sessions will explore how collaborative approaches help identify emerging needs, adapt interventions on the ground, and scale up the solutions that yield the best results.

Within the framework of these community listening and social value analysis processes, ALC contributes its methodological expertise and the development of digital tools such as K Tool, designed to structure the interpretation of qualitative data and support participatory decision-making processes.
