Xabier Barandiaran

D. in Sociology in 2001 from the University of Deusto with a thesis on the legitimacy of political institutions among adolescents.

He is a full professor in the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the University of Deusto, Donostia-San Sebastian Campus.

His teaching areas are general sociology, institutional and corporate communication and collaborative governance.

He has also been advisor to the Deputy General of Gipuzkoa (2019-2023), Chief of Staff of the Deputy General of Gipuzkoa. 2007-2011/2015-2019, Chief of Cabinet of the Department of Transport and Public Works of the Basque Government. 2005-2007.

He is a researcher in the communication team at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of Deusto.
