ALC and Galdakao Town Council present Galdakao Zeugaz

Yesterday, ALC and Galdakao Town Council presented Galdakao Zeugaz, a pioneering initiative that places care at the heart of life in the municipality.

The project, which originated in the Galdakao Social and Health Care Forum, seeks to transform the care model by promoting collaboration between local agents, citizen participation, and a community-based approach based on shared responsibility.

ALC has accompanied the development of the project through a process of active listening, collective work, and shared knowledge building, supporting the driving force behind the project in mapping local agents, identifying needs and opportunities, and defining priorities for action.

The presentation was attended by the acting mayor, Edurne Espilla, the director of ALC, Gorka Espiau, the councilor for Social Action and Equality, Amets Iturbe, along with representatives of associations, municipal services, and citizens, who highlighted the importance of placing care at the center and moving towards a more inclusive and sustainable community model.

Among the first actions of the project are the Death Café and the talk “The Empty Chair,” which will be held on December 9 at the Gandasegi school, putting into practice a collaborative approach that integrates care, health, and community life.
